Execution Block
- Condition Recognition
- Identify degraded grip from wet hands, slick handles, or failing gloves.
- Identify degraded visibility from darkness, glare, or visual obstruction.
- Identify unstable footing or shifting work surfaces.
- Identify cognitive fatigue, distraction, or stress.
- Inspect for knife damage or mechanical failure (loose handle, chipped edge, bent tip, cracked blade, sheath failure).
- Immediate Adjustment Protocol
- Reduce speed immediately.
- Reconfirm full grip before blade movement.
- Widen stance and stabilize posture.
- Re-establish safe slip direction.
- Inspect knife condition.
- Abort cutting if structural damage is present.
- Switch tools if the knife is unsafe.
- Wet or Slippery Conditions
- Dry hands if possible.
- Use gloves if available and functional.
- Shorten cutting strokes.
- Increase distance from body.
- Pause between cuts to confirm grip.
- Cold or Numb Hands
- Stop cutting if sensation is reduced.
- Restore circulation before resuming.
- Re-test grip strength.
- Resume only after control returns.
- Low Visibility
- Add light or stop cutting.
- Do not cut by feel.
- Reconfirm blade orientation before each stroke.
- Fatigue or Stress
- Pause cutting.
- Reset breathing.
- Re-check posture and stance.
- Resume only with stable control.
- Abort Conditions
- Loss of grip confidence.
- Loss of safe slip direction.
- Shaking hands.
- Mental distraction.
- Knife structural damage.
Abort rule: secure the knife immediately and stop work.
Warnings and Stop Conditions
Environment overrides skill. If unsure, stop. Never push through degraded control.
Immediate correction rule: Stop. Reset. Restore control. Resume.
Verification

- [ ] Slip direction maintained.
- [ ] Cutting slowed appropriately.
- [ ] No blind cuts occurred.
- [ ] Knife secured after use.
